New Jersey: Senate to Vote on Flawed Bill that Could Imprison Gun Owners TODAY

Today, the New Jersey Senate is scheduled to vote on Senate Bill 516.  This legislation seeks to increase the penalties applied when a minor gains access to a firearm.  So-called “safe storage laws” are inherently misguided as they render firearms useless for self-defense by making them inaccessible when seconds matter.

Massachusetts: Radical Anti-Gun Bill May Receive Vote TODAY

The NRA has learned that the Massachusetts House Ways and Means Committee may be considering and voting today on a scaled-back version of a radical anti-gun bill, House Bill 4121, and that it could be voted in the full state House of Representatives as early as tomorrow.  This is bad governance, as this bill has been redrafted multiple times and each draft has been given very little time for review from stakeholders and policy makers.

Idaho: Concealed Carry Expansion and Youth Hunting Laws Effective Today

Today, July 1, two NRA-backed bills that were passed in the Idaho Legislature and signed into law by Governor Butch Otter (R) during the 2014 legislative session will take effect.  The NRA believes it is important that all citizens in Idaho understand the basic legal parameters of each of these new laws.  We encourage all individuals who wish to take advantage of the expansion of those laws to read the following descriptions.
