New Jersey: Senate to Vote on Flawed Bill that Could Imprison Gun Owners TODAY

Today, the New Jersey Senate is scheduled to vote on Senate Bill 516.  This legislation seeks to increase the penalties applied when a minor gains access to a firearm.  So-called “safe storage laws” are inherently misguided as they render firearms useless for self-defense by making them inaccessible when seconds matter.

The Florida chapters of the American Academies of Pediatrics and American College of Physicians, along with a number of other groups and individuals backed by the anti-gun community, filed this lawsuit against the State of Florida after Governor Rick Scott signed a bill backed by the National Rifle Association in 2011.

Missouri: Gun Owners Prevail in Missouri Supreme Court – Amendment Stays on Primary Election Ballot on August 5

As previously reported last month, former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg and his anti-gun followers made another attempt at hindering your right to keep and bear arms in Missouri.  In mid-June, a lawsuit was filed against Senate Joint Resolution 36 (Constitutional Amendment 5 on the August 5 primary election ballot) – with the plaintiff being St. Louis Police Chief Samuel Dotson III and Rebecca Morgan, a member of the Missouri chapter of a Bloomberg-funded anti-gun group.  This lawsuit sought to challenge the ballot language and had the express intention of outright killing this ballot measure.
